the import of arms into Hong Kong by other than Government had been prohibited by Ordinance No. 8 of 1858, and that no arms are permitted to be sold in the Straits Settlements for exportation unless under a declaration that they are intended for some other than the Imperial Government of China.
I have received Your Lordship's Despatch No. 110 of 20th August last, to state that the number of scholars regularly attending the Central School is one hundred and forty, and that the additional building is expected to be completed soon.
